Like most brides, I'm incredibly excited! I've just gotten engaged to a great guy, David. We met last summer in a photography class, and now we're getting married! We're planning our wedding for the summer of 2010, and I can't wait to share my planning ideas and have a place to vent about the process!

I decided to make this process public not only to document the engagement/planning process, but to be another voice for African American brides. The bridal industry seems to market to a specific type of bride, but I truly believe that everyone--mainstream or not--deserves to celebrate his or her marriage. That said, welcome to The Pink Broom!
